OUT OF MY MIND
Author and preacher Max Lucado once said Faith sometimes begins by stuffing your ears with cotton. I couldnt agree more! Sometimes, the best way to carry out what you know God has called you to do is simply play deaf and ignore those around you who tell you You cant do that! or Weve never done it that way before! In fact, cant is not a part of faiths vocabulary. It just simply does not know the word. Now, you may say to me But there are things you simply cannot do faith or no faith. And I say, Faith is not about you or me. Its all about God. You are right, there are things we cannot do apart from God. Faith always focuses on what God can do through/with/ in spite of us, not on what
we can or cannot do without God. Jesus said, with God all things are possible. Notice the wording with God Sometimes, the best way for us to move ahead and do what we know God has called us to do is to remember that we do it with God, not apart from God, and to stuff our ears with cotton.

Please be sure and put your name and quantity of what you will purchase on the list found in the downstairs hallway. Please be sure to check the list or call the office so we dont have too much of any one item. We need to have these items at the church in the pantry or the freezer no later than the morning of Monday 21st. The Boomer Link has volunteered to come prepare and start roasting turkeys that evening. Need carvers Tuesday evening and possibly on Wednesday morning. Need desserts makers on Wednesday. There will be celery, onions etc. to chop, tables to decorate, paper goods to be gotten out. Silverware to be wrapped. Help with getting all the last minute items together. Will need volunteers on Tuesday and Wednesday to do all these things. Need volunteers on Thursday to deliver meals, help with last minute preparations, serve and clean up.

Thanksgiving Plans
An elderly man in Phoenix calls his son in New York and says, "I hate to ruin your day, but I have to tell you that your mother and I are divorcing; fortyfive years of misery is enough." "Pop, what are you talking about?" the son screams. "We can't stand the sight of each other any longer," the old man says. "We're sick of each other, and I'm sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in Chicago and tell her," and he hangs up. Upon hearing the news, the sister calls Phoenix immediately, and screams at the old man, "You are NOT getting divorced. Don't do a single thing until I get there. I'm calling my brother back, and we'll both be there tomorrow. Until then, don't do a thing, DO YOU HEAR ME?" and hangs up. The old man hangs up his phone, too, and turns to his wife. "Okay," he says, "they're coming for Thanksgiving. Now what do we tell them for Christmas?"
