A project is the product of experience and perseverance and it goes a long way in shaping up a person in ones career. With immense gratitude, we acknowledge all those who contributed with their valuable suggestions and timely assistance towards the completion of this work. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our principal, Dr. V. P. Devassia and the head of the Computer Science and Engineering Department, Mrs. Jyothirmayi Devi for providing us with more than adequate facilities for our project development. We are indebted to our project guide Mr. Vinod P. R. for his timely help and advice throughout our project.

ABSTRACT
Image Stitching is a brand new research discipline with most of the articles and IEEE papers based on panoramic stitching releasing only after 2000. Image Stitching is the process of stitching two different images to form a panoramic vision. The goal of this Image Stitching project is to study the basics of this emerging technology and to accomplish the x-direction stitching. This project also emphasizes on a comparison based on the variation of the stitched image from the original image. Image Stitching technology have been used in the area of Virtual Reality which has a close relation to the topic of Robotic Vision which holds the key of tomorrows science. Hence the project seems to be worth and purposeful.
