The House of Reps is the official policy-making body of the union that determines UTLAs direction on issues such as: RIFs/furloughs, displacements, pilot schools, teacher evaluation, administrator accountability, colocation, seniority, and curriculum. Your voice, your choice, your initiatives! Any UTLA member in good standing can self-nominate for a House of Reps position. Participation is easy. There are just seven scheduled meetings per year. Meetings are held at the UTLA building on Wilshire Blvd from 6:00pm - 8:15pm (dinner and childcare are provided). Although member participation in subcommittees, etc., is encouraged there is no additional time commitment beyond the scheduled meetings. Dates to remember: 0 The self-nomination form will be available September 21, 2012. Check your United Teacher publication or the UTLA website. 0 The deadline to complete and turn in your self-nomination form is November 1, 2012.
