Workshops:
Early Literacy Strategies: What techniques can you use at home to make sure your young reader is mastering the skills needed to read at a high level? Healthy Eating on a Budget: Good nutrition is important for all members of a family, especially students. Learn how to eat right even when money is tight. Building an Effective Vocabulary: How does our brain learn words? What can parents do to help their children learn words? What tools and resources are available? Answers to these questions and more! Advocacy Training Strategy Development: Solving the issues your community faces requires a plan. Learn how to use the Strategy Chart to plan for successful advocacy. Advocacy Training Building Coalitions: Successful advocacy efforts require buy-in from many stakeholders. Learn how to reach out and bring people on board. Common Core State Standards Overview: What are the CCSS and how will they affect education in Michigan? These new standards are a historic shift in education, and every parent needs to know about them!
