    WATER QUALITY ANALYSIS

    Power generating plants vary widely in size but most plants share the same requirements for pure water. Raw water enters the power generating plant and is purified through several stages of filtration and demineralization. This continuous stream of purified water becomes the boiler feed water. pH levels of water must also be checked before feeding it to the boiler. Poor boiler feed water quality can cause such problems as scaling, caustic embrittlement, pitting, and corrosion of the internal parts of the boiler and condensate systems.
