This document summarizes a study on the effectiveness of applying therapy group activities to improve the social aspects of clients withdrawing in the RSJ Prof. HB. Saanin Padang mental hospital. The study was conducted from September 5th to 15th 2009 with 20 withdrawing clients. The results showed that therapy group activities were partially effective in improving social abilities. Statistical analysis found that after therapy group activities, clients' social abilities increased significantly by 57.1%. When applied effectively, therapy group activities improved clients' social aspects by 67.29%. The implementation was deemed highly effective for withdrawing clients.

SAANIN PADANG ABSTRACT Therapy group activities is in one of therapy model that nurse do to a group of client who have the same problem. Used to encourage group members to express their feelings in many ways other than verbal means as well as to monitor the clients ability to build social relationships, giving feedback, ideas or receive external stimulation. Based on preliminary studies that the writer do with observing some data obtained varying the room whwre the TAK has been done but still sporadic an has not been programmed. Purpose of this study is to determine the affectiveness application of therapy group activities to the social aspects of clients whitdrew in RSJ Prof. HB. Saanin Padang, this study started on 05 September to 15 September2009 on 20 people clients whitdraw as the respondent. The study is a descriptive analytic whith cross sectional manner. The results showed more than partial implementation pertained TAKS capable. The result of statistical test, P = 0.09 means that the ability of TAKS after implementation significantly increased, meaning that TAKS can increase the ability of the social aspects of a client 57.1 %. Foe the effective implementation of TAKS, the data showed an increase in the social aspects of clients withdrew 67.29 % after the implementation of the TAKS, the implementation is highly effective means to attract clients away, it is expected to head the field of nursing, head room and training RSJ. Prof. HB. Saanin Padang to every room to socialized about the implementation of SOP and Training so that implementation of TAKS can be done with care. Reading list : 14 ( 1996 2005 )
