SKILL OBJECTIVES: Using modals can, cant; writing a story. Part A: Do this section as an oral group activity before assigning as independent written work. Part B: Write the following questions on the board: What sports can you play? What games can you play? What instruments can you play? What languages can you speak? Can you ride a bike? Can you type? Can you make coffee? Have students suggest other Can you . . .? questions, then discuss what they can and cant do. Encourage students to read their finished stories aloud.
