The question paper consists of 34 questions divided into four sections A, B, C and D.
Section - A comprises of 10 questions of 1 mark each, Section - B comprises of 8 questions of
2 marks each, Section - C comprises of 10 questions of 3 marks each and Section - D comprises
of 6 questions of 4 marks each.

Question numbers 1 to 10 in Section - A are multiple choice questions where you are to select
one correct option out of the given four.

There is no overall choice. However, internal choice has been provided in 1 question of two
marks, 3 questions of three marks each and 2 questions of four marks each. You have to

The product of Tanays age (in years) five years ago and his age ten year later is 16.
Determine Tanays present age.

30.

In November 2009, the number of visitors to a zoo increased daily by 20. If a total of
12300 people visited the zoo in that month, find the number of visitors on 1st Nov.
2009.

31.

Two tangents TP and TQ are drawn to a circle with centre O from an external point T.
Prove that PTQ 5 2 OPQ .

32.

A tent is of the shape of a right circular cylinder upto a height of 3 metres and conical
above it. The total height of the tent is 13.5 metres above the ground. Calculate the
cost of painting the inner side of the tent at the rate of Rs. 2 per square metre, if the
radius of the base is 14 metres.
OR
A solid is in the form of a right circular cylinder with hemispherical ends. The total
height of the solid is 19 cm and the diameter of the cylinder and the hemispheres is
7 cm. Find the volume and total surface area of the solid.

In Fig. 8, two circular flower beds have been shown on two sides of a square lawn
ABCD of side 56 m. If the centre of each circular flower bed is the point of intersection
O of the diagonals of the square lawn, find the sum of the areas of the lawn and flower

A tree is broken by the wind. The top struck the ground at an angle of 308 and at a
distance of 30 metres from its root. Find the whole height of the tree. (Use
