Comprehension Strategy: Visualize Comprehension Skill: Make Inferences, Sequence Writing Trait: Voice, Purpose, Audience Genre: Fiction, Expository Grammar: Sentence Combining with Verb Spellling: Variant Vowels (oo, ou, u_e, ue, ew, ui ou) LANGUAGE ARTS: -I have learned new vocabulary and can use it in my writing and speaking. -I can analyze text structure -I understand past-tense verbs and commas. -I can read fluently. -I understand authors purpose. WRITING: -I can discuss the 6 + 1 Traits, specifically Voice. -I can creatively brainstorm ideas. -I can write a thank you letter. SPELLING: -I can spell my words within my writing correctly.

MATH: 3rd Grade - UNIT 6: Developing Skills -I can identify, draw, and name line segments, lines, and rays. -I can draw parallel and intersection line segments, lines and rays. -I can draw angles as records of rotations. -I can identify right angles Secure Skills: -I know multiplication facts. -I can identify right angles -I can identify and name 2D and 3D shapes. -I can identify symmetric figures and draw lines of symmetry. 4th Grade: -I can explain my answers. -I can do partial-quotients division algorithm -I can do multiplication and division number stories. SCIENCE: -Simple Machines! SOCIAL STUDIES: -I understand concepts about old and new communities. -I learn about the Native Americans from many communities.

NO SCHOOL August 24: MONDAY! First Day of you Thank School! Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.! Homework Packet # 3 due February 11th September 2: First Parent/Teacher/ Student Conferences will begin the week of January 28th. Remember your student is invited to attend the conference.
