SHIPMANS SCIENCE CLASSES 10-12

Biology:
We are covering plant science in chapter 7. This is over the structure of plants and what they need to survive. Tuesday 22 nd we will start our lab dissecting flowers by following the lab manual. By doing this they will learn about each part and will be quizzed accordingly on Wednesday 23rd.

Physical Science:
This week we are learning what causes temperature changes in our environment. Then for our lab on Thursday 24 th we will learn how to read different kinds of thermometers.

Physics:
For this week we will be still going through chapter 4 on thrust and inertia. Students are expected to have their catapults built and ready to present Thursday 24th and Friday 25th. Please remember that the catapults must be able to fling a softball at least 20 yards.

Chemistry:
This week we will cover what exactly makes up an atom in chapter 2. Friday the 25th we will have a lab. During the lab, the students will be responsible to make the molecule of water (H2O) and a few others out of gum drops, mini marshmallows and toothpicks. Test over chapter 2 will be on Monday the 27th. Study over the weekend! Make sure you know the terms and the location of electrons, protons, and neutrons.
