1939
Einstein sends a letter to Roosevelt about using fission as a weapon

1941
Attack on Pearl harbor. Declaration of war to Japan. Germany then declares war on U.S.

1942
Oppenheimer leads presentation of designs for a fission bomb at Berkley university.

1943
British scientists join the project. V

1942
Oppenheimer is appointed head of los Alamos laboratory and Leslie groves of Oakridge lab.

1944
Implosion fission reactor developed.

1944
First non-radioactive test for implosion method. Later that year the first radioactive test was performed.

1944
Designs for both A-Bombs were finalized. The first test Nuclear explosion code named Trinity was performed

1945
Japan Surrenders and Oppenheimer resigned and is succeeded by Norris Bradbury as head of Los Alamos Lab.

1945
The Bombs were built and shipped. The bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Aug. 6th and 9th.
