(Informative Essay, Sentence Fluency, Adjectives) Unit Statement: In this unit, the student will create at least two informative essays using the Five-Step Writing Process. The student will also expand their knowledge and use of adjectives. The student will develop the 6+1 Writing Trait of Sentence Fluency throughout their written work. ESSENTIAL OUTCOME The Student Will identify different types of adjectives (articles, common and proper, indenite and predicate) in sentences. TSW write two informative essays by following the Writing Process: pre-writing, writing, revising, editing, and publishing. TSW demonstrate the ability to outline as a form of prewriting. TSW include, in both essays, an introductory paragraph with thesis statement, paragraphs within the body that include topic sentences and details, and a concluding paragraph that restates the thesis. TSW select precise adjectives and adjective forms to illustrate concepts in essays. TSW incorporate the 6+1 Writing Trait of Sentence Fluency when completing the essays.
