    Abstract 1

    Machine downtime is when a machine cannot perform its intended purpose at the time they are needed. Machine downtime directly affects efficiency and consequently results to unwanted increase in production cost. SMYAC has 8 production lines with 6 lines having one inspection machine called the Veritas iM (ViM) which inspects inherent bottle defects like checks or small cracks. When any of the ViM is not working or down, the production output of that particular line will be reprocessed or re-inspected resulting to additional production cost. This project investigated the causes of ViM downtime and implemented solutions to prevent such downtime.
