Chapter 1: INTRODUCTION

1.1Organization Description The purpose of this project is to promote artists working on different ideas and themes. It provides them platform to exhibit and sell their creations online in affordable rates. Most of the artists face a common problem with their works They all have a very hard time in organizing an art exhibition. Many of them are still planning to exhibit one but do not find sponsorship. Hiring a good Art gallery is an expensive job and cost may go up. A complete event management is required for better response. Keeping records of sales, authenticity, customers etc. Problem of finding suitable place to attract people. The bottom line is: An Art Exhibition is a highly expensive job, mostly accessible to limited people for a limited time of period and requires handling of delicate creations with no guarantee for sell. Thus, Online Art Gallery websitesprovides an opportunity to make the art market more transparent and efficient by passing on the benefits of the Internet and efficient courier services to the art community.
1.2. About Proposed System 1.2.1 Aim

Our aim is to create a portal where collectors and artists art can share their experiences and collections with each other. This project entitled ONLINE ART GALLERY allows collectors to display and share their collections and to buy sell art from each other, privately and directly. It provides a platform for artists to display their works to collectors, by uploading them at their convenience, setting their own prices.

1.2.2Scope The Project is designed to replace existing system to provide better and improved way of distributing artwork across the globe by eliminating any hassle such as a middle man for buying and selling of artwork without any prior knowledge of artists or seller as well as providing a stage for upcoming artists at low costs. 1.2.3 Objectives Our aim is to create a portal where collectors and artists art can share their experiences and collections with each other. This website allows collectors to display and share their collections and to buy sell art from each other, privately and directly. It provides a platform for artists to display their works to collectors, by uploading them at their convenience, setting their own prices. Online Art Gallery provides a virtual gallery through which artist can present and sell their artwork globally without any hazels of organizing an exhibition. Advanced fine payment system can be added. To manage artwork and maintain authentic details To maintain sales details & generate bill. Provide a stage for upcoming artists.

1.3Methodology for analysis & design

Evolutionary Prototyping Model Evolutionary prototyping is considered the most fundamental form of prototyping. Evolutionary prototyping main concept is to build a robust prototype and constantly improve it. Objective is to deliver a working system to the end user. This approach also give opportunities to explore many possibilities as well as help in providing services that other competitors lack i.e. can be used to provide service such as video tutorial i.e. how can we make an artwork [Tips].

Questionnaire What will be the criteria for membership for the artist? What are the details for an artwork to go on sale? Who will manage the website? What will be sales & bill maintaining process?
