SYNOPSIS

PROJECT: Comparative study of Induction program in IT industry Introduction : Every organization, large or small, has a well considered, induction programme. An appropriate induction programme provides all the information required by the new employee to settle in the organization, without overwhelming or diverting the attention from the crucial process of integration into the company. The basic purpose of induction is the effective integration of the new employee. An induction programme is an important process for bringing staff into an organisation. It provides an introduction to the working environment and the set-up of the employee within the organisation. The process will cover the employer and employee rights and the terms and conditions of employment. As a priority the induction programme must cover any legal and compliance requirements for working at the company and pay attention to the health and safety of the new employee

PURPOSE: To understand the Induction program in different IT companies OBJECTIVES: To study the Induction programs running in different IT companies. Study the attitude of new joiners towards Induction program

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY To study the above objectives both primary and secondary research would be done. The methodology includes:PRIMARY DATA:1) Structured interviews (telephonic and mail) with recruitment heads of Wipro technologies and Infosys (both in Chennai).The respective persons were contacted through telephone and appointments taken for Interviews to be taken. Questionnaire was also mailed alongside to various people who are/were associated with the respective companies to gauge information regarding the lateral joinees induction program. The information collected through this has been presented in the report along with the names and contact number of the concerned persons in the bibliography and references provided.

Sampling : 3 IT companies ( TCS , WIPRO , Infosys) and 60 employees (20 from each company)
