Christianity (from the Ancient Greek word , Khristos, "Christ", literally "anointed one") is a monotheistic religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus as presented in canonical gospels and other New Testament writings. Adherents of the Christian faith are known as Christians

Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God, God having become human and the saviour of humanity. Because of this, Christians commonly refer to Jesus as Christ or Messiah. The three largest groups in the world of Christianity are the Roman Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox churches, and the various denominations of Protestantism.

Christianity encompasses all churches as well as individuals without churches as many modern practitioners may be believers in Christ but not active church goers.

Christianity Symbols

The main symbol of the Christian religion is the cross. The cross is a symbol of Jesus' death for us so that we may have eternal life.

The Ichthys (the fish symbol) that represented that God was the fisher of men.

The dove is a symbol of the Holy Ghost.
