Dear Parents/Guardians, This week marks the beginning of Lent, so we will be attending the Burning of Palms ceremony Tuesday morning, and the Ash Wednesday Mass is this week at 9:00 A.M. Then, on Thursday we will be having a class Valentine exchange at the end of the day. This is only a 4-day week since we have a teacher's workshop on Friday. Also, next week there is no school on Monday because of President's Day. We have the following tests this week: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Math Division Basic Facts Timed Test on Tuesday Science Chapt. 3 Test on Electricity on Wednesday Spelling Test #23 on Thursday Reading Context Vocabulary Test on Thursday (see attached) Social Studies NE Capital Test on Thursday (spelling counts!)

We now have about 20 post cards for our state collection, so thanks to everyone who has helped to bring them in! We are also continuing with our state reports, and are enjoying sharing the projects with everyone. I encouraged everyone to make flashcards of the capitals so that they could practice, so hopefully everyone will do well on this region's test! This should be a short, but fun week, since we are ending it with our Valentine exchange! Hope you have a great 4-day weekend!
