ARX Parametric models

Structure in the time domain
Y(t)+a1y(t-1)+anay(t-na)=b1u(t-nk)+ bnbu(t-nk-nb+1)+e(t) Where na= Number of poles nb= Number of coefficients (number of zeros + 1) nk= Time delay (Number of samples) e(t)= error term (white noise disturbance)

y x A = u x B + error
Auto- Regressive- function based on previous values only

Selecting Variables
We thought about the variables we could 3 include in our model Vent Flow before estimating models on ident. Feed Using chemical Flow - 1 engineering knowledge about the system we only selected variables that effect the column pressure directly
Top temperature -5 4 Product Flow - 6

Cooling water temperature - 2

Reflux Flow 7 Feed tray temperature

Re-boiler Power - 9

Bottom Flow - 8

Variables used
Directly effects Column pressure U2 , U3 , U5 , U7 , U9 Effects column pressure indirectly U4 , U6 Has little relevance to column pressure U1 , U8

Only the variables that effect column pressure directly were used.
