UPES Research Aptitude Test (RAT) for PhD Programs

The papers will be divided in 4 sections as per the details furnished below; each section will carry equal marks (25 each) and a total of 100 marks. The paper will cover the following sections as per the syllabus outlined below: Duration of the examination - 2.5 hours 1. Research Aptitude Research: Meaning, ethics &characteristics Type of research Methods of research Thesis writing: Its characteristics & format 2. Reading Comprehension A passage to be set with questions to be answered with emphasis on domain sectors 3. Logical Reasoning Arguments, deductive & inductive research Logical & Venn diagram Inferences Analogies 4. Data Interpretation Interpretation of data Mapping analysis of data Analysis & Tools for data analysis Quantitative &qualitative research Please note: For January 2013 admissions the Examination will be conducted on the following dates.
