Celebrating Black History

Dear mom, Did you know that most of person who come art in black history are known for a big accomplishment. We celebrate black History because many people who are black arent recognized for the great wonders they do. It is important because with out it many African Americans wouldnt be recognized for the magnificent things they did. I selected this poem because it was talking about freedom and being your inner child. The poem made me feel inspired by the many quotes it used to show what it was talking about.

Nikita zips across stage Trailed by a troop of white-gloved One-wheelers: Killer Joes, The 12 & Under Crew In disguise. A sixth sense guides him Beyond darkness. An Inner voice says when, Dont stop, dont stop, dont stop, Ill tell you when. A constellation of funeral homes. Jumpsuits. Red & white Ribbons in the sky. The total Groove, a carnival of roses Circling the moon. Mere call & response Never knocked socks this way, Lifting nicknames & dates From the faces of tombstones And mere call & response never will. God climbs inside, Asking for souls Something we werent taught to share.
