Effective March 1, 2013 burning permits are required!

This will allow tracking of burn locations in a computer based system, and regulate open burning when and where conditions are not conductive for public and firefighter safety. Types of permits MTFC issues: Recreational Fires: This type of permit is issued upon pit & site inspection only Traditional Fires: Meat drying rack, sweat lodge, cultural purpose Debris Disposal Fires: Yard vegetation, needles, tree/shrub limbs, non-treated scrap lumber Burn Barrels: This type of permit is issued upon barrel & site inspection only
