March 8, 2013 Dear Colleague: The need for exceptional building level school leaders has never been

greater. As a school leader you are in the best position to recognize and recommend exceptional teacher leaders who can become those leaders in the future. The WSU principal preparation program is a scholar-practitioner model infused with many field-based opportunities. The program is carefully aligned with the principal Residency Certification requirements for Washington State. We are pleased to announce that this program is now available in the South Puget Sound beginning this fall with classes in Puyallup! We are asking you to do two things: First, identify highly qualified teacher leaders whom you think have the potential to become outstanding school leaders. Please send me their names and email addresses on the attached form and I will invite them to an orientation session to learn about the WSU Educational Leadership program. And, second, forward the attached flyer, "Looking for Leaders for Tomorrow's School" to anyone who might be interested in the WSU Vancouver/Puyallup program. Specifically, we are looking for persons with these attributes: Passion for working with students and adults Willing to assume leadership roles and responsibilities Possesses outstanding communication skills, including problem solving Possesses integrity and honesty Is intelligent and hard-working Is an excellent teacher or ESA member of the faculty Committed to personal learning and excellence Is the type of person you would look forward to mentoring and possibly hiring If you have any questions please contact me at GEMalone@WSU.edu or 253-318-6793.
