1. What was your first reaction when reading the title of the story? (4 sentences) I felt like something might have happened to that girl. I was also kind of surprised that, she felt so lonely she considered herself as dead. I thought she was going to really die in the story. She was going to get bullied harshly. 2. After reading the story, what does the author really mean when she writes that she died in the sixth grade? Did she really die? Explain your answer using examples from the story. (4 sentences) She didnt really die. But when she says that, she means the person who she used to be, died in 6th grade because she changed due to the bullying. She felt she had already died because the bullying was so harsh. And it was just because she just wanted to be a kid a little longer. 3. How does the author describe herself before she died? Go back to the story and find adjectives that describe her personality. (2 sentences) She described herself a very positive girl who believed war could disappear. She was part of the popular crew. 4. In the second paragraph the author says she flat-lined. What does she mean? Look up the word in an online dictionary and write the definition. Well, when they say that at the hospital, it represents, I think, the persons heart beat stopping and the person dying. She messed up and that caused her to flat line that was probably the moment she died in 6th grade

5. How did The Crew influence others in school? Give specific examples that you found throughout the story. (4 sentences) They told them lies about her. So people started to mistreat her like The Crew did. They would make fun of her about her outfit and hair. Thanks to The Crew. 6. The author mentions that the girls at the sleep over were 11 going on 17 then she states that she was content to be a kid for a while longer. How is it possible to be 11 going on 17? Describe some of the things the girls wanted to do that wasnt age appropriate. (4 sentences) They were talking about a something called Ace and Base and were ready to talk about boys. They are only 11; you dont have to worry about boys until maybe 13. She still wanted to be a kid. She wasnt ready for all the older kids stuff.

7. What were 3 specific negative effects the bullying had on the author? (4 sentences) She couldnt talk to anyone because they would just make fun of her. She also had to be protected by teachers so that she isnt so emotional scared. She was physically abused. Her parents were scared. 8. When did things finally turn around for her? What exactly happened? How did she feel? (4 sentences) Things got better for her, I think, in 8th grade. People were actually starting to be her friend and talk to her. She probably got treated better when she got older. Her dad put her in an advanced placement.
