Amy Clary MGP ED 321 Multi Genre Project- Foods of the Spanish Speaking World (connections between the

United States and these Countries). Why? I am choosing foods of the world for a couple of reasons. One, I love food and all kinds of it and like to think of myself as an amateur food critic. Secondly, I am a world language major (Spanish) and like the idea of incorporating some of these cultural aspects as well into my project. For example, using some of the foods from Spanish speaking countries. Finally, I just recently returned from studying abroad last semester and was able to visit some other countries besides the one I was living in (Spain). I have personally experienced the different types of foods that other countries have to offer. I probably will limit my overall focus to about only 5 different countries. Questions: 1. What kinds of foods are popular to enjoy in the United States? (making comparisions) 2. What foods are specific to different countries? (branching knowledge) 3. How are these foods prepared? (ingredients, cooking styles) 4. How does food help to give a country an identity? (cultural aspects) 5. How does food influence people? (travelers, choosing where to live) Primary and Secondary Sources: biography written about a famous chef/ cook from a certain country (secondary) (Julia Childs)- her diary? a recipe that was written by an actual person from that country (primary) youtube video of food preparation (primary) food review about a dish (secondary)

Standards: ? -incorporation of the 5 Cs -including the primary and secondary sources -matching the 5 questions with the 5 Cs
