Tubular Peyote Rope

Making the tube

Thread a beading needle with a comfortable length of


thread.

Pick up 6 beads. Tie them into a circle using a square knot,


leaving a 10" tail.

TIP:
Step up after stitching the third bead in the round.

Exit through bead 1.

Repeat Steps 4 and 5 until the tube is the desired length.


Finishing; adding a clasp

There are three high beads in this round. Pass through the
three high beads twice and snug them up to pull those three beads into a cone shape.

Work in peyote stitch around the circle: Pick up bead 7,


skip bead 2, and pass through bead 3. Pick up bead 8, skip bead 4, and pass through bead 5.

Pick up bead 9, skip bead 6, and pass though bead 1. Step


up to start the next round by passing through the first bead of this round again (bead 7).

Pick up three beads, half of the toggle clasp and three beads. Pass through the three beads in the cone shape.

Snug the beads up in this round to begin the tube shape.

Pass through the beads added in this step again to reinforce. Knot the thread ends securely, weave ends into piece, and trim.
