So, why should I care about higher scores?

Higher scores:
Increase funding to the school Make diplomas more valuable Increase community investment Increase property values

Increase funding to the school Better scores mean more money for our school, which means better supplies (books, computers, etc) for you.

Make diplomas more valuable Better scores mean HPHS is providing a better education and students graduating from this institution will be in greater demand in the market place of jobs and colleges.

Increase community investment Better scores mean companies and businesses will take greater interest in Huntington Park and want to come open-up shop because the workers are more skilled.

Increases property values Better scores mean more investment in the community which means property values will rise.

Increases personal wealth Better scores mean all these factors will increase your personal wealth, you will have greater opportunity to make more money in the future when you become part of the work force, putting more money in your pocket.

In student individual reports you received at beginning of semester you were given last years scores for English, Math, Science and Social Studies (History).

So whats my goal? To put my best effort and attempt to go up at least one level in each part of the test this year.

A jump in level? If you scored FBB last year your goal is to get to BB. If your score was B then your goal is to get to P. And so on

How do I do this? Easy, pledge to do three of the following

Pick three you dont do already:

A. Study the testing vocabulary in your content courses. B. Practice good test taking skills! C. Ask/answer questions and participate! D.Attend tutoring sessions! E. Study 10/15/20 minutes more each day. F. Improve attendance! No absences.
