PROCEDURE
1. Constructthecircuitasshowninfigure(Fig.1). 2. By varying the potentiometer connected to the pin no.1 of the PWM IC TL494, set the dutyratio(D)to0.4.Settheloadresistance(R)to150ohms. 3. Switch ON the input supply (Vs). Vary the duty ratio in steps from 0.4 to 0.8 and note thevaluesofcorrespondingoutputDCvoltages(Vo),andloadcurrent(Io). 4. Observe the waveforms of currents through MOSFET (primary current), diode (secondary current) and capacitorC1, output voltage, voltage across the capacitorC1, voltage across the MOSFET, voltage across the diode and voltages across the primary and secondary windings, in CRO for D=0.6. Sketch these waveforms on a graph sheet, onsametimescale.

PRECAUTIONS
Ascertainthedotpolaritiesoftheflybacktransformerwhilemakingconnections. Ensure that the converter is operating in CCM while noting the readings. This can be verified by observing the waveform of the voltage across the secondary winding which will bearectangularwaveform, whentheconverteroperatesinCCM. Ensurethatthediodesareconnectedwithcorrectpolarities. Theloadshallnotgetdisconnectedwhiletheflybackconverterisinoperation.

OBSERVATIONS
