As years passed, William continued

to make swords for the queen or anything else that

she requested. Also, William would make shoes for the horses. Then an opportunity from the

queen came up for William. The queen told him that he could have a whole new life and that he

could move to America, and that the only condition was that he had to continue to be a
blacksmith to help out the colonies. The first thing that came into Williams mind when he heard

this offer was his daughter Mary, who is now consider an adult as she is eighteen years old. William quickly agreed to the queen's offer and demanded that his daughter get to go with him'
The queen agreed and set the arrangements up for which ship they would be on' It was two weeks later that William and Mary set out on their voyage to America. Mary was so excited that one of her dreams were finally coming true. Although she didn't know what

the future held she was excited to leave England. The boat ride to America took a little over two
weeks and Mary didn't like riding on boats as she would get sea sick easy.
Once they arrived in America, Witliam and Mary had to go through an island off the

coast of Virginia. This was a processing island that everyone had to go through that was coming

island they were assigned last

name$he name that they were

assigned was Shuler, and they

got this name because William was a blacksmith and made horse shoes. This is how my family got the last name Shuler. Once past the island William and Mary settled down in

Virginia#-

William continued his job as a blacksmith and piovedlo the local village. Mary, with the education she had 66t from London began teaching to kids in the village that she lived in with
her father. Mary continued to teach, and she even went on to attend college to fqrther her
