Now You See Me is a big hide and seek game. Nick and Sally love to play hide and seek but they can never really find good hiding spots. Thats when the Cat in the Hat shows up with his friends, Thing One and Thing Two. He offers his help by taking the kids to his other friend, Gecko. The Gecko teaches them that in order to hide so no one can see them, all they need to do is blend in to their surroundings. Thing One and Thing Two know just what to do, that is to camouflage the kids. They paint them green and add some leaves to make them look like the forest, the Gecko and the Cat couldnt find them since they blended in so well. The kids return home with a new lesson on hiding. This book introduces a new concept and vocabulary word. This literacy development introduces the word camouflage and references the game hide and seek to get kids to understand the concept and relate to what the word actually means. For an activity for this book a word search will be created with words that have to do with hiding. The connection is that the words are camouflaged by the letters around them and make them blend in. The standards referring to this activity and 2.RFS.3 and 2.RFS.4.
