Synopsis 4 : Semiotics

This semantization is inevitable; as soon as there is a society, every usage is converted into a sign of itself; the use of raincoat is to give protection from the rain, but this cannot be disassociated from the very signs of an atmospheric situation. Or to be more exact, the use of a raincoat can be dissociated from the very signs of an atmospheric situation.

Purpose of the theory

The symbiosis of culture and symbolism in architecture. To generate the understanding of a symbol/sign that could produce the impact to the society.

What are the issues addressed?

Extremely lack of understanding between sign and signifier. Absent of culture and phenomenology in building structures and space.

What are the design methods/strategy/theories proposed?

Relativity of past, present and future Integration of signifiers and signified aspect of society and architecture. Art and culture had to move side by side in semiotic movement.
