ISB was founded with a vision is to be an internationally top-ranked, research-driven, independent management institution that grooms future leaders for India and the world. The first class of Post Graduate Programme in Management started on campus with 128 students in 2001. The Indian School of Business has formed academic alliances with the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, London Business School (LBS), MIT Sloan School of Management, The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy and Tufts University. It offers a unique one-year MBA-equivalent Post Graduate Programme (PGP), short-duration Executive Education programmes for middle and senior management (CEE), a part-time Post Graduate Programme in Management for Senior Executives (PGPMAX), a 5-year doctoralequivalent Fellow Programme in Management (FPM), and a Post Doctoral Research Fellowship Programme. ISB has over 105 visiting faculty from the B-schools in USA, Europe, Australia, and various Asian countries along with over 40 resident faculties. The school has various Centres of Excellence, each with a particular focus on issues relevant to emerging markets. ISB's Mohali campus commenced operations on April 14, 2012 under the leadership of the Punjab government and support of industrialists such as Analjit Singh, Atul Punj, Pawan and Sunil Munjal, and Rakesh Bharti Mittal. As a result, the flagship Post-Graduate Programme is now delivered across the two locations Hyderabad and Mohali simultaneously with a combined class size of 770. In terms of work experience, students come from diverse fields such as IT, banking, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), biotechnology, manufacturing, shipping, telecommunications, advertising, petroleum and defense services, among others. The Student Clubs act as the network-lifeline for the entire ISB community. All clubs at the ISB fall under two categories, Professional Clubs (such as Finance club and Consulting club) and Social Clubs (such as Golf club and Music club). The ISB is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), and is the first business school in South Asia to be recognised by this premier global body. It ranked 20 in the Global Top MBA rankings 2012, Financial Times, London. The school has strong alumni network, which now has around 3500 alumni, spread across 25 countries.
