Sub Notes Friday, May 2nd

Homeroom Take attendance and send to the office with Jaden Buske or call down to Char ext. 3270. Play Shut Box as your activity today. If the weather is nice Jaden and Savannah will lead the class in a game of Arm Hockey outside, otherwise you can play a few rounds of Pictionary on the board. Research: 8:24-9:14 Discuss the importance of paraphrasing when writing a Research paper. Complete the Plagiarism worksheet together as a class. Do a couple together and then have students finish individually. Go over as a class and discuss answers. Class will then go to the computer lab in the library. They will be completing the Goblin Game which has a link on my school district website. Please check off students when they complete the game. 2ND Hour MATH: 9:16-10:06 Begin by going over the answers from yesterdays homework (see answer sheets). Focus on problems 30, 31, and 32. When done going over the homework, have students work with their desk partners on ACE problems #49-58. They can do this on loose leaf paper and have one person hand in for me to correct (this will keep them a little more focused during work time). There will be NO homework. 3rd Hour PREP: 10:08-10:58 Lunch: 11:00-11:30 5th Hour MATH: 11:32-12:22 6th Hour MATH ENRICHMENT: 12:24-1:14 Today we will take the students to the inside computer lab in the library. Students will login in to www.ixl.com to perform some math practice on skills we are learning in Bits and Pieces 3. I would like students to practice the Common Core State Standard of 6.NS.3. User name example: skahl@columbusms Password: bar code If class is good you can reward them with some free time to play other internet games 7th Hour TECHNOLOGY: 1:26-2:06 Class meets in the Technology Computer Lab inside the library. Students are creating a report on a survey question that they have designed. Students should complete this activity and post the summary on their Weebly website. 8th Hour MATH: 2:08-2:58 Homeroom This should be a quiet work time for students. Allow for them to work together but make sure they are working at an acceptable noise level.
