JIVE CHASSE TO SIDE COMMENCED WITH RF (St,A,L&F) Commence with weight over ball of LF, heel lightly touching

the floor. RF held slightly to side on inside edge of ball of foot, knees slightly flexed and veering inwards As a preparation to move use a slight raising and lowering of L heel, accompanied by a sympathetic body rise and fall (Count "a") 1 RF to side with part weight, small step, R knee flexed. Hips to L (Ball of foot) Use a slight body rise after foot is placed Move LF towards RF, both knees flexed (Ball flat) Allow body weight to lower to side, small step, knee flexed, then softly tr i ht n knee R turn hips to central position (Ball,flat) Use a slight body rise after foot is placed (Footwork) Although footwork on 1 is given as ball of foot the heel may lower towards the floor or even make light contact with the floor. 2 is given as "Ball, flat" although the heel could lower towards the floor without making contact, especially at the faster tempos When turn is made on the last step of a chasse the footwork could be "Ball" or "Ball, flat" At all times the weight is over the balls of the feet
