UNEMPLOYMENT, CAUSES AND SOLUTION

Unemployment is the fact of a number of people not having a job in a country or a state. In Nigeria today, our youth are unemployed due to some certain things; some of our graduates are not doing anything to carter for themselves and for their family. Rather, they wait for their parents to come back from work to feed them. This may lead to insult from their parents, friends and enemies. CAUSES: 1) PURE EDUCATION SYSTEM: The education structure used in Africa is not beneficial to the students as it does not directly correspond to the prevailing economic activities outside the school system. Rather than providing useful skills to students and molding professionals, theory is what is being taught instead of practical. 2) LACK OF TRAINING FACILITIES: Another vital cause of unemployment in Africa, particularly amongst the youth, is due to absence of training facilities and sufficient vocational guidance. Hence, there is need for establishment of several technical facilities and other work oriented courses. 3) BAD LEADERSHIP: Lack of unemployment in Africa is also linked to the bad leadership and corrupt attitude of individuals in power. Moreover, there is a list of money embezzlement and power retention exhibited by policy makers in the education sector in Africa. It is as a result of bad leadership and it leads to unemployment.

SOLUTION
1) There should be efforts to enhance income and productivity in Africas informal work sector. 2) Governments should also facilitate better access to essentials of production like capital, land and enhanced training and technology to facilitate effective marketing of products. 3) There should be focus reduced external borrowing due to exercising more fiscal discipline. 4) Voluntary work must be offered to keep unemployed citizens occupied. 5) Government must step in to help people find other methods of catering for the needs fulfilled by unemployment. 6) Higher emphasis should be placed on promoting rural employment by providing support to cottage
