LNG Sampling Standard Method and Application for Small Quantity LNG Custody Transfer

Abstract
The future of LNG technology challenge is to provide small quantity LNG transfer for direct use like heavy vehicles fuel or household energy needs. For that reason, the sampling method should be determined based on the standardized one. The method used in large quantity LNG transfer is different with the small quantity due to difference of overall transfer time. To determine that method, we make a study entitled LNG Sampling Standard Method and Application for Small Quantity LNG Custody Transfer. Analysis methods to be compared are ISO 6974 and GPA 2261 by considering advantages and disadvantages of both standards towards its analysis results and changes in the future composition of natural gas. The object of this study is the HHV of LNG. To overcome the brief sampling and analysis time when LNG transfer is performed at small quantity, the method used is by carry out the sampling and analysis in offline at the LNG storage tank to obtain HHV of LNG. During the custody transfer, HHV from the result of analyzing is assumed to be constant so the price of LNG is calculated based on weight of LNG transferred.
