Our invention will improve the quality of life by making window cleaning easier and safer. We chose this idea because we read an article about window cleaning deaths and how it is becoming a worldwide problem.

Our invention was inspired by two marine animals

Plecostomus- this marine animal is used in our invention because its main purpose is to clean glass with its mouth
Octopus- this animal is used in our invention because its suction cups can be attached to wheels to climb up a glass building.

Habitat: Lives in small holes and gaps in rocks near reefs or the ocean floor. Migration pattern: Migrates from shallow to deep water and back again: shallow water October-November/deep water February-March/shallow water April-May/deep water August-September. Life cycle: 1.Hatches from the egg 2. Grows to become an adult octopus 3. At 1-2 yrs. old it mates 4. Male dies after mating 5. After mating the female lays the eggs and guards them 6. Eggs then hatch and the mother dies. Negative impacts: Certain octopuses have venomous ink that is capable of killing humans.

Habitat: They live in tropical fresh water. They have been found in tropical ponds in Indonesia. They exist throughout South America. Migration pattern: All populations of this species make significant seasonal migrations. No populations of this species make local extended movements (generally less than 200 km) at particular times of the year (e.g., to breeding or wintering grounds, to hibernation sites). No populations of this species make annual migrations of over 200 km.
Life cycle: Deposits eggs on smooth rocks. Eggs are guarded by one or both parents. May deposit eggs in depressions.

Negative impacts: Produce large amounts of waste.

Our invention will improve the quality of life for many people in many ways. First, it will improve the quality of life for window washers because it will make their work safer because our invention uses suction cups found in an octopus to climb up glass and will use a motor to clean the glass like how the plecostomus does. The plecostomus is used in many fish tanks because how efficient he cleans glass, so if we used his mechanics design we can produce an efficient window cleaner. The mechanical process in our invention is very simple. It will ascend vertically up a building while connected to a water truck with a hose. It will stick to the building because of the octopus suction cups attached to the wheels. Then, it will apply water-cleaning solution to the glass. Finally, it will use a design like the plecostomus mouth to clean the windows with suction.

Our invention will really improve the quality life for many people because it will save lives. Every year skyscraper window washers die. But, if they used the octoplec (our invention name) then they wont have to worry about walling off a building.
