    Selection criteria of insulation materials There are many types of insulation materials in the Saudi market.

    However, heat conductivity varies from one material to another. On selecting insulation materials, customer has to take the following properties into consideration. 1. Low heat conductivity. 2. Conductivity should not be affected by time. 3. Closed cell and homogenous composition. 4. Good resistance to absorb water and vapor. 5. Good resistance to stress resulted from temperature change. 6. Good resistance to compression, bend, and fraction. 7. Good resistance to bacteria, acids, and other environmental effects. 8. Good resistance to fire, especially in locations exposed to fire easily. 9. Reasonable cost. Saving tips: You cannot achieve all characteristics mentioned above in one insulation material, so, you have to select the proper material based on your priorities. Table 8 shows general characteristics of insulation materials.
