Racking
•The first ball should be on the ‘head’ spot
•The eight ball should be in it’s standard middle position

Breaking
•The breaker is determined by a coin toss (one tosses,
one calls in the air)
•When placing the ball, it must be kept behind the
second row of diamonds
•The first ball in after the break determines your set -
stripes or solids

Scratching
•When placing the ball after a scratch, place it behind
2nd row of diamonds
•The first ball hit must be on the opposite side of the 2nd
row of diamonds unless it rebounds off the opposite rail
•There is no ‘table scratching’

Penalties
•Include: Hitting your opponent's ball first, hitting a non-
cue ball with the cue, moving the table, or shifting the
ball without hitting with the cue ball
•Any penalty ends your turn
