We all know about the importance of water in sustaining life of all species on the planet. This natural resource covers about 70% of the land surface, however, about 3% of this volume is freshwater.

In addressing this issue in the classroom is very important that the teacher promotes environmental awareness of students. For this, the water is not an infinite resource and that it is necessary to its rational use and preservation of its quality.

- When brushing your teeth and shaving, keep the tap closed;

- Close the tap while soaping the dishes and cutlery; - Use the washing machine at full capacity; - At bath time, look up the shower off with soap and bathe quick look; - Reuse water whenever possible; - Use in place of watering hose for watering plants; - Use a broom to sweep the floor and not the water hose; - Wash your car with a bucket instead of hose; - Capturing rainwater in buckets. This water can be used for washing cars, watering lawns and plants; - Putting control systems water flow (aerators) on the faucet spout.

The World Water Day was established by the UN (United Nations) on March 22, 1992. The March 22 of each year, is intended for discussion of various topics related to this important natural asset. But because the UN was concerned about the water if we know that two-thirds of the Earth is made up of this precious liquid? The reason is that little amount, about 0.008% of total water on our planet is potable (fit for consumption). And as we know, much of this water sources (rivers, lakes and reservoirs) is being contaminated, polluted and degraded by human predation. This is worrying because it may fail in the near future, the consumption of water for much of the world's population. Thinking about it, it was established the World Water Day, whose main objective is to create a moment of reflection, analysis, awareness and development of practical measures to solve this problem
