Caring for water

When we talk about water care, we refer to the rational use of water. This
implies ensuring the protection of clean and consumable water sources on
our planet, trying not to pollute it, not waste it and thus preserve this vital
liquid not only for our species, but for all life on planet Earth.
Water is the main component of the human body. The human body is 75
percent water at birth and about 60 percent in adulthood.
Water is the building block for life. The survival of almost all living beings that
inhabit the earth depends on it. Without water there would be no life. In
reality, there would be no planet, since 70 percent is made up of water.
But most of it is salty water found in the oceans and seas, and it cannot be
consumed. Three percent of the total volume is sweet, but of the latter, only
one percent is in the liquid state; the remaining two percent is in the solid
state, on ice shelves at latitudes near the poles.
The amount of water suitable for consumption is too little to meet the needs
of a population that is increasing more and more. If to this we add the
problems caused by climate change and pollution, we are faced with a
serious problem of scarcity of this vital resource.
As we could not live without water, we need to become aware of its
importance and make an effort to take care of it. Saving water by each one of
us is essential since the waste that is made per individual is very high.
Some recommendations to save water at home:
- Separate garbage properly and recycle
-Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth
-Using water control systems in the toilet
-Reuse the water.
- When you bathe, do not soaps under the spray of the shower; close the key
- Use biodegradable detergents
- Collect rainwater and use it to water the plants
Recommendations for taking care of water outside the home:
-Do not throw the garbage in the street
- Do not pollute rivers, seas and the aquatic ecosystem
- Use renewable energy
- Not polluting is also taking care of the water
To draw attention to saving water on March 22 is World Water Day.
Big changes always start at home, if we save water in our home, that change
can also be replicated when it comes to taking care of water in your
community.
