your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. Please be seated for the Liturgy of the Word. (2 Samuel 12:7-10-13)

Liturgy of the Word 1st Reading Carried away by his lust, King David committed two very grave sins. Thus, the Lord God sent to him the prophet Nathan to bring the king to repent of his sins. R: A proclamation from the Second Book of Samuel. Nathan said to David: Thus says the Lord God of Israel: I anointed you king of Israel. I rescued you from the hand of Saul. I gave you your lords house and your lords wives for your own. I gave you the house of Israel and of Judah. And if this were not enough, I could count up for you still more. Why have you spurned the Lord and done evil in his sight? You have cut down Uriah the Hittite with the sword; you took his wife as your own, and him you killed with the sword of the Ammonites. Now, therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised me and have taken the wife of Uriah to be your wife. Then David said to Nathan, I have sinned against the Lord. Nathan answered David: The Lord on his part has forgiven your sin: you shall not die. The Word of the Lord. All: R: Thanks be to God. (Psalm 32) Lord, forgive the wrong I have done! Responsorial Psalm

I have been crucified with Christ. Yet I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me. Insofar as I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who has loved me and given himself up for me. I do not nullify the grace of God; for if justification comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing. The Word of the Lord. All: Blessed is the one whose fault is taken away, whose sin is covered. Blessed the man to whom the Lord imputes not guilt, in whose spirit there is no guile. R. I acknowledged my sin to you, my guilt I covered not. I said, I confess my faults to the Lord, and you took away the guilt of my sin. R. You are my shelter; from distress you will preserve me; with glad cries of freedom you will ring me round. R. Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you just; exult, all you upright of heart. R. (Galatians 2:16, 19-21) C: Thanks be to God. Please stand to give and honor to the Holy Gospel. (1 John 4:10b) Aleluya-le-luya! Aleluya-le-luya! Aleluuuya! Aleluuuya! Aleluya-lee-luya! C: Alleluia, Alleluia! God loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins. Alleluia, Alleluia! Aleluya-le-luya! Aleluya-le-luya! Aleluuuya! Aleluuuya! Aleluya-lee-luya! Gospel (Luke 7:36-50) A woman of ill repute bathed Jesus feet with her tears and wiped them dry with her hair. To counteract the negative impression of his host, Jesus reminds him and us about the supremacy of love and the vital link between love and forgiveness. P: All: P: All: The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. A proclamation from the holy Gospel according to Luke Glory to you, O Lord. A Pharisee invited Jesus to dine with him, and he entered the Pharisees house and reclined at table. Now there was a sinful woman in the city who learned that he was at table in the house of the Pharisee. Bringing an alabaster flask of ointment, she stood behind him at his feet weeping and began to bathe his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them, and anointed them with the ointment. When the Pharisee

Many faithful of Galatia had been misled into believing that certain Jewish observances, such as circumcision and the abstention from some foods prescribed by the Law of Moses, were necessary for salvation. St. Paul explained that it is only a living faith in Jesus that brings salvation. R: A proclamation from the Letter of Paul to the Galatians Brothers and sisters: We who know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. For through the law I died to the law that I might live for God.

who had invited him saw this he said to himself, If this man was a prophet, he would know who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him that she is a sinner. Jesus said to him in reply, Simon, I have something to say to you. Tell me, teacher, he said. Two people were in debt to a certain creditor; one owed five hundred days wages and the other owed fifty. Since they were unable to repay the debt, he forgave it for both. Which of them will love him more? Simon said in reply, The one, I suppose, whose larger debt was forgiven. He said to him, You have judged rightly. Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon, Do you see this woman? When I entered your house, you did not give me water for my feet, but she has bathed them with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but she has not ceased kissing my feet since the time I entered. You did not anoint my head with oil, but she anointed my feet with ointment. So I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven because she has shown great love. But the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little. He said to her, Your sins are forgiven. The others at table said to themselves, Who is this who even forgives sins? But he said to the woman, Your faith has saved you; go in peace. The Gospel of the Lord. All: C: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. Please be seated for the listening of the homily.

God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, (At the words that follow, up to and including and became man, all bow) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who was spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. Prayer of the Faithful P: R: C: C: Having experienced the compassion of Christ in our lives, let us pray that we, too, may be willing to show compassion to others. Lord, help us to be like you. We pray: (R) That all priests who are called to serve God and his people may continue to offer themselves for the sanctification and strengthening of the believing community. We pray: (R) That all civil leaders may show special concern for the poor, the oppressed, the unemployed. We pray: (R)

Amen! The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God/ It is right and just! It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God. For you so loved the world that in your mercy you sent us the Redeemer, to live like us in all things but sin, so that you might love in us what you loved in your Son, by whose obedience we have been restored to those gifts of yours that, by sinning, we had lost in disobedience. And so, Lord, with all the Angels and Saints, we, too, give you thanks, as in exultation we acclaim:

At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his Passion, he took bread and, giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take this, all of you, and eat of it: for this is my body which will be given up for you. In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice and, once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying: Take this, all of you, and drink from it: for this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me. Memorial Acclamation C: P: Please all stand. The mystery of faith: When we eat this Bread and drink this Cup, we proclaim your Death, O Lord until you come again. Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his Death and Resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the Bread of life and the Chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.
