Many faithful of Galatia had been misled into believing that certain Jewish observances, such as circumcision and the abstention from some foods prescribed by the Law of Moses, were necessary for salvation. St. Paul explained that it is only a living faith in Jesus that brings salvation. God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made.
