Lesson 18 - Teacher's page

Lesson suggestion In this lesson each group presents the magazine that they have finished making in the previous lesson. The size of a class and the lesson time make it probable that the presentation of each group is about 5 minutes. This should be enough time for the students to present their magazine, giving general impression over the magazine as a whole, and focusing specifically on one or two articles (on which students feel they did really well). Furthermore the groups must, in their presentation, pay some attention to the chosen form of the magazine and to the process of making it. The student page has a number of suggestions for the presentation. After the presentation about two minutes for questions and comments from classmates and teacher should be enough. Teacher role The role of the teacher is mainly that of a member of the audience, probably with additional tasks, such as: planning the order in which groups are to present their magazine encouraging and reassuring nervous speakers keeping time, so that overly enthusiastic speakers do not exceed their time limit making sure the audience is quiet and respectful while a group is presenting chairing the questions, commenting and discussion that may follow the presentations and keeping time so that asking questions does not exceed the 2 minute limit for giving feedback.
