Objectives
SETS objectives
The main objectives of the national movement Im living healthy too are as follows: Prevention of juvenile obesity in Romania; Improvement of consumption habits and lifestyle among children and their families; Informing families/ the public at large about the benefits of a balanced diet; daily physical activities, sports, combating stress, access to culture, civic rights, concern for the nature; Creation of a national alliance of values to support the cause of the movement for a period of 5 years: medical doctors, psychologists, professors, athletes; universities, mass media, associations, institutions, companies, opinion leaders.

Assessment of habits and lifestyles of 1st graders and their families.

The weight-hight reports shows that:

Children with hight between 100-125 cm have an average weight of 23.7 kg. Children with hight between 126-145 cm have an average weight of 28.2 kg.

Children with hight between 146-160 cm have an average weight of 29.9 kg.

More than half of 1st graders from Bucharest eat fruits, vegetables, dairy and meat at least once a day. As regards home cooked meal consumption, they have cooked meal twice a day on an average. Weekly, children eat 8,6 times fruits and 7 time veggetables, and 7.9 times sweets.

About half of the 1st graders from Bucharest spend an average of 2 hours in front of the TV during the week, respectively 3 hours during the weekend. A third of the children spend more than 4 hours a day during the weekend watching TV/DVD/Video.

1st graders from Bucharest study at home about 2 hours and a half per day. On a weekend day, they play twice more than on a week day, while they spend about half an hour to communicate with their friends on social networks, regardless of the day. Most children, however, do not spend time on the computer to communicate with their friends.

At district level, demographic profiles are comparable with the data at total Bucharest level. In district 1, however, a net income/household is noted significantly higher than the average net income/household at total level.

Nutrition
More than half eat fruits, vegetables, dairy and meat at least once a day. Cooked meal is consumed most often. 68% have 3 main meals a day and 50% eat also in between meals. . Weekly, children eat 8,6 times fruits and 7 time veggetables, and 7.9 times sweets.

More than 3 quarters have breakfast every day and almost all every Suturday and Sunday.

More children drink more than 3 glasses of liquids per day.

They drink on average 3 glasses of soft drinks a week.

Lifestyle
Children spend an average of 4 hours a day at school and about 2 hours and a half a day for individual study at home.

About half of the 1st graders from Bucharest spend an average of 2 hours a day in front of the TV during the week and 3 hours in the weekend

On a weekend day they play twice more than on a week day

Children allocate half an hour, regardless of the day, to communicate with their friends on social networks

Most children, however, do not spend their time on the computer to communicate with friends
