General Notes on Cable Gland

GLAND DESIGN Gland design and testing philosophy on the performance requirements of BS 6121, adding any criteria necessary to meet particular specification. HAZARDOUS AREA GLANDS Flame-proof glands are approved by CENTRAL MINING RESEARCH STATION Dhanbad. MATERIALS Glands are manufactured as standard in BRASS. includes ALUMINIUM, MILD STEEL and S.S. FINISHES Brass glands are generally supplied with NICKEL finish and also supplied with variety of finishes, e.g. TIN or CADMIUM. ENTRY THREADS Glands are supplied with B.S. threads. Other entry thread forms available are NPT, PG, PF, BSP METRIC etc. HOW TO ORDER Select appropriate gland for the relevant table of the respective manufacturer by checking the ACTUAL cable dimensions or by referring to the SPECIFIED cable or specify the full cable description and dimensions; cable specifications and conductor size entry thread.
