Man wanted to Europe - level 3

17-06-2013 14:00

It shows just what some people are willing to risk to enter Europe illegally. Police in Spain arrested this man on the 9th of June when he was discovered precariously positioned on a propeller of a passenger ferry. He was travelling from Tangiers. Police video showed the barefoot shirtless man, with a small plastic bag of belongings as the ferry arrived in Tarifa from Morocco. Spain's Interior Ministry said a 48-year-old Algerian man had been detained on suspicion of attempting to enter the country illegally, apparently with the intention of swimming to shore once the boat neared the Spanish coast. Tarifa, a port in the south of Spain, is a frequently attempted point of entry for illegal migrants.
