Leonardo Da Vinci Leonardo Da Vinci was born in 1452 in Vincis Toscana Town; he was the illegitimate child of a peasant woman, called Caterina and Ser Piero, a wealthy Florentine notary. Although his father was married four times, had only sons in his last two marriages, so Leonardo was raised as only child. His enormous curiosity manifested early, drawing mythological animals of his own invention; Giorgio Vasari, his first biographer relates how the genius Leonardo as a boy, he created a shield of Medusa with dragons that terrorized his father when he ran into him by surprise. When he was 30 years old, he presented with Ludovico Sforza in where he stayed 17 years old how painter and engineer war; although his main occupation was a military engineer.
