About IIEST
Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST 2013) are institutes proposed by the Government of India to meet the growing demand for engineering and scientific manpower to meet Indias increased industrialization. The proposed IIESTs would be created by an act of the Parliament of India.

They would be given the status of Institutes of National Importance, on the lines of Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs) by the Indian government. The first institute to actually be granted the IIEST status is Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur.

Eligibility
The nationality of the candidates should be Indian. The candidates should have taken the HSC or Class XII exam from a recognized board or university with at least 5 subjects, two out of which should be vernacular languages. The candidates should have obtained a minimum aggregate of 50% (GEN) or 40% (ST/SC) in the subjects of Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.
