Introduction to Horticulture
FETAC Level 4 Major Award
This practical 1 year course includes the following modules:

Plant Identification Care and Maintenance Safe Horticultural Practice Horticultural Science Growing Fruit Growing Vegetables Establishing Trees and Shrubs Woodcraft Communications Work Experience
Learn about the major factors affecting soil suitability for plant establishment to include soil composition, nutrient availability, water holding capacity, drainage, organic matter content and compaction Learn how to identify common problems associated with trees and shrubs to include assessing plant quality before planting and pests and diseases Plant a range of common plants including trees, shrubs, bedding plants, vegetables and fruit

This course will lead to:


A FETAC Level 4 level Major Award in Horticulture You can progress to a FETAC Level 5 course on successful completion. This course will run Two days a week on Mondays and Tuesdays in Sonairte ,Laytown Co. Meath 9.30 am to 4.30 pm starting in September 2013.

Have not completed your education to Leaving Certificate standard, or you were not successful in your Leaving Certificate You can also apply if you completed the Leaving Certificate Applied
