Deanne and Paul Shatz International Exchange Program Scholarship Application Requirements 2013

Applicants must be current students at the Corcoran College of Art + Design in BFA or MA programs. 1. Submit a typed essay of 250 words explaining why you should participate in this program. Describe what you would like to learn on this trip, how this trip serves your academic goals, and why you would be an important addition to this group project. 2. Printed or online portfolio of 15 images or video. The photographs should show a unied theme or style. The work should exhibit your technical and conceptual ability. Fine art and/or photojournalistic images encouraged. 3. Two written recommendations from an instructor, employer or other individual that can describe you work, your dedication, and your ability to participate within a group. 4. Exchange in both countries is an important aspect of this course. Bezalel students will come to Washington, DC June 23rd-July 7th. Please state your availability and desire to participate during this time. 5. During the Israel trip you will be paired with a partner for the virtual collaboration componenet of the course. Please note your availability and desire to fulll this aspect of the program. Those applying must be ready to collaborate artistically with others, be open to ideas and opinions, and get along with people of other cultures.

COURSE DATES AND SCHEDULE: The class will meet four times before the trip to Israel. Students will be required to do all the course reading, assignments and eld trips.
