A RESOLUTION PRESENTED TO THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATIONOF NEW MEXICO INSTITUTE OF MINING AND TECHNOLOGY Title of Legislation: Lights

WHEREAS, the darkness of night often cuts short the optimal use of the pool and tennis courts hours; and, WHEREAS, the SGANMIT proposes for the safety and enjoyment of the student body the addition of lights to the tennis courts; and, WHEREAS, the lights would prolong the hours of optimal play time at the tennis courts as well as help prevent injuries due to the dim lighting; and; WHEREAS, the SGANMIMT is the official governing body on campus, elected to be the combined voice of the students regarding issues on campus, show of support by the SGANMIMT Senate for this resolution will be weighted heavily by administration; and, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the SGANMIT proposes lights be added to the tennis courts, in order to prolong the hours of recreation, as well as to increase the safety of the students who choose to go there at dark; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the SANMIMT Senate directs the SANMIMT President to submit a signed fully executed copy of this resolution to the Vice President for Student University Relations and the President of NMT.
